Lazy Day

Here is a poem I wrote over a year ago when I was not getting anything accomplished one day. I haven't had many of those days lately though. Ü I hope you like it.

Lazy Day,
Thief of life,
You’re stealing my time.
Leave me alone
So I can accomplish what needs to be done.
The day is short.
My list is long.
When the wick of today is spent,
I need to see progress--
Not a heap of regression.
Lazy Day,
I do not like to get behind.
Release your grip
So I can move forward.
My mind says “Move!”
But your gravity is stronger
Than any other known force.
Lazy Day,
Perhaps tomorrow
I will be able
To win the race with the burning wick.

Thanks for visiting,
Patricia
