Family
I have been married to my husband, Marvin, since April, 1989. He encourages me to lead my dreams (you get behind if you follow your dreams). We have two terrific sons, Marvin Jr. and Austin.
Marvin Jr. is engaged to a wonderful young lady named Lynsey. We love her as much as we love our sons. Austin will graduate from school in May 2015, so he will soon find a nice young lady to settle down with as well. Austin has been home educated since he started school.
It saddens me that my beloved mother- and father-in-law, Mary and M.D., have already passed. They are deeply missed and still deeply loved. We are very close to my parents, Lou and Wayne, who also encourage me to connect with my creative side.
Hobbies and Work
I say creative side because I also quilt, cross stitch, latch hook, paint (by number), and loom knit. Not only do I enjoy being active in crafts, I also write my own craft patterns. I suppose it's that part of me that wants to teach others that makes me want to write craft patterns and offer craft tips for beginners.
Reading is just as much fun as writing. I hope to read The Iliad, The Odyssey, and Uncle Tom's Cabin within the next five years. Currently my goal is to read the Holy Bible all the way through. I have been working on that goal for about two years and suspect to be finished within another two years. I find reading on my Kindle very pleasurable. My husband actually won the Kindle from a contest he entered with our cable provider. He passed it along to me and I have thoroughly enjoyed it.
As you can see from my Blogger profiles on the right, blogging is another favorite pastime of mine. I also offer my writing, transcribing, and proofreading services on oDesk.
Since July, 2007 I have worked for a nice lady, Kelle, as a virtual assistant.
Inspiration
We love nature so that provides many writing opportunities. My husband also indulges me with writing ideas. Sometimes God speaks to me. Our East Tennessee location also provides inspiration for settings and characters for my writing. The region itself is rich in history, which not only aids in writing but in crafting as well.
Thanks for visiting,
Patricia
